Jara Enger
Our mission at the Village Family Service Center is to enhance the lives of those we serve. As an Account Executive with our Village Employee Assistance Program (EAP), I can serve our member organizations in many ways, but my favorite (way) is when I get to connect with groups of employees to share about our robust well-being resources and continue to normalize accessing mental health services. My personal mission is to work to ensure that everyone feels comfortable asking for help.
When I provide EAP orientations for employees, I share a bit about my own (ongoing) mental health journey. I have both struggled and thrived with Anxiety, Depression, and ADHD for my entire life. While it can still be difficult for me to share this, I know that being vulnerable can help others feel less alone and more likely to ask for help. We can all use a little help sometimes!
In my spare time, I love to travel with my partner and our daughter to watch her play sports, visit family and friends, rollerblade, ride bike on our beautiful Fargo/Moorhead river trails, read (and smell) actual books with paper pages 😉, kayak on Big Cormorant Lake in MN, walk in the woods, dance, binge watching murder mysteries, and hang with my Little Sister.
I have a degree in Special Education (Emotional/Behavioral Disorders and Specific Learning Disabilities) with minors in Business Administration and Psychology from Minnesota State University Moorhead (Go Dragons!).
StrengthsFinder: Jara’s Top 5 - Connectedness | Input | Positivity | Maximizer | Empathy
